I bought a pair of these ear buds as an upgrade to the stock buds that came with my MP3 player. They were a significant improvement in fit, sound quality and outside noise reduction. I was able to comfortably listen to music while working out in a gym at a much lower volume level due to outside noise reduction. After about 3 months of regular use one of the ear buds stopped producing sound. I emailed JBuds about the problem, got a response the next day, and had a replacement set in my possession less than a week later. The follow up, customer service, and obvious concern for my satisfaction as a customer was a very pleasant surprise when compared to other consumer companies. I commend JBuds and wholeheartedly recommend them.

I got these about two or three months ago to replace my older 10 dollar ones that were lent and never returned.

During the time I had them they were ok. The bass wasn’t all that great (during and after the burnout) and it didn’t cancel that much noise (my old 10 dollar ones canceled a lot more noise at lower volume) but they did feel great in my ears, not too tight not too loose. I was overall a bit disappointed in the sound quality. I figured I got a bad pair but I didn’t really want to judge them so quickly.

During school I would listen to my iPod during study hall/walks home, I could hear all of the cars next to me (again my 10 dollar ones blocked out a lot more noise) but they were blocking out some of the noise.

Once school was over I misplaced my iPod charger and didn’t use them. A month later I decided to look for the charger again so I could take my iPod with me to work. I found it, charged up my iPod, and went to work the next day. However, the right earbud didn’t work! I had to push it in more and hold it or slightly turn myself in an awkward/bad position to get any sound out of it. So I just put it away and decided to continue with my work. A few hours later I figured one earbud was better then none so I popped my left one in and it didn’t work either! And all it did was sit down nicely on my bookcase! I had to slightly turn myself into an awakward position again to get any sound at all. If I’m on break I guess I could push it in more/hold it and deal with it but it really isn’t work it.

I figured it was probably just my iPod so I plugged my computer speakers and played some songs quietly. It worked. I asked a co-worker and a friend for their earbuds. It worked. I plugged in the JBuds again, nothing.

Perhaps I got a bad pair or maybe they weren’t built to work longer than a month or two. My rating would be lower if it wasn’t for the fact that they just might be a defective pair and that it was my first product purchased from JLabs. I’ll be writing to them soon to find if I got a bad pair or not.

I bought these to listen to Pandora at the office. I figured I wanted some inexpensive earbuds since I would never remove them from the pc audio jack in the front. Like most reviewers, they were OK at first, got better after a month, but then the right side bud stopped working. It seems that the wires in the connector are easlily separated. Now like I mentioned, these are never moved out of the pc. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of this product. The earbids themselves are great for the money, but what’s the point if they will only work for a few months?

I lost my good earbuds at home and I was thinking of purchasing the new J3 model, but I will not at this point.

These earbuds provides terrific quality for the price. I’m sure there are better earbuds for bigger bucks, but these JBuds are my choice for everyday use. For high quality sound, earphones are naturally superior. These earbuds fit snugly in my ears in a way that helps to block out surrounding noise. I’ve replaced all those free earphones with these JBuds. I keep a set in all the usual places. It’s a great product.

I was given a set of these j-buds when they were initially released a couple years ago. The company sent me a set because i had inquired about their release date. At the time i gave them a raving review because the were such a cheap set of buds, with fantastic sound and great quality. However, it would appear the company has lost sight of their objective and turned to another profit mongering capitalistic company.

The buds i purchased were white, but when i removed them from the box the color from other production runs during manufacturing had bled into my pair. Rather than getting a nice white bud with a white cord, i instead got a white cord with ugly bright blue streaks in random places along the entire cord. I could live with this, because after all they weren’t a $100 pair of buds.

I plugged them in and started listening to some hip hop music. The first set of these buds i had could produce very deep bass with no distortion. This set of buds couldn’t get anywhere near it’s claimed lowest frequency response without crackling and distorting the music. I attempted to bend the molded strain relief on the back of the 3.5mm plug to see if it was a connection issue, but it was not.

Overall these buds have gone from great to garbage in my opinion. I believe the company has changed it’s speakers and settled on a much cheaper pair, possibly to encourage people to buy their j-3 buds. I will be looking elsewhere for my next ear-bud purchase, as i have thrown these away.

I read good things about these earbuds, liked the way they looked and thought they would be a good replacement for the sub-par factory headphones from Apple. The first pair I got preformed great the first time I used them. Second time, nothing. I verified that it wasn’t an issue with the headphone jack on my iPhone by using the factory headset. Played with no problems. Put in for a replacement set with Amazon, who, as usual, delivered first class return service. Got the replacements on Tuesday after filing the return on Saturday. Waited til this weekend to try them because I was going to do a 24 hour burn-in as I had read was recommended. Second set would not play at all. Returning those for a refund and will be looking elsewhere for a set of good earbuds.

After i purchased the Jbuds and the left channel went out on them i contacted customer service on their website. It was the most pleasant return experience I’ve ever had. I received my replacements in 3 working days and didn’t have to pay a penny for shipping. They’ve worked flawlessly. So I purchased the J2’s and I am impressed for the price. They sounded awful when I first plugged them in, but after a 30 or so hour burn in they are spectacular. Of course you can buy better for more money but these are my favorite in this price range($15-$30). I have the V-moda’s, a pair of skull candy rasta’s, and a few others. I like the J2’s sound and fit the best. The heavy wire is nice also. It just seems strong. And I like how the stress points are reinforced. The plug is solid and is easy to grab. They never fall out of my ears, even when sweating. I’m a roofer so they’ve taken some abuse. But my main praise is of the customer service and that has become the most important thing to me. No product is ever perfect but a company who stands behind theirs will continue to recieve my business.

THIS EARPHONES ARE AT A VERY LOW VOLUME AND ARE NOT WORTH 20 DOLLARS…THE BASE SOUNDS GREAT BUT THE VOLUME IS A HEART BRAKER

After reading all the reviews before purchasing it, I was convinced that this would be a decent product. I’m the only one that uses the earphones for my iPod. I only use them for jogging, working out at the gym, or mowing the lawn. I ordered these in February, and within 6 months they no longer work. The jack that slides into the iPod is of poor quality, as far as I’m concerned. I know it’s the JBud instead of the iPod because my original earphones still work. I have to manipulate the jack to get the sound to actually work, and even then it’s not working that well. I don’t hear the bass or lyrics or vice versa, and the music cuts in and out. I am returning the product.

I’m very surprised by the number of high ratings for this headphone. The whole reason why I bought these were due to the high ratings. Unfortunately, I went through two of these in less than 4 months. In both cases, one of the ear piece stops playing music. I returned on to amazon since it happened within a week of purchase. I would guess the failure occurs due to the way I store the headphones. I wrap it around my mp3 player. Not sure of any better way to keep your headphones from tangling, but I suppose this method places a lot of stress on the soldered connection.

My last complain is that these ear buds are not securely in my ear. They tend to slip off sometimes and I’d have to jam them in my ear to get them to stay decently well. It’s quite annoying. I would avoid these pair of headphones and look else where. *Sigh* Another $15 dollars down the drain. I wonder if there are any headphone companies that have a 1 year + warranty.

I bought the J2 Earbuds to replace some Sony earbuds to use in conjuction with a Sansa Clip, primarily at the gym. I am an avid gym goer, in the ballpark of 4 to 5 times a week for the past several years. I mention this because the gym is the location of my primary use for headphones. That said, on with the review.

    The Good:

    - The headphones appear to be well constructed, perhaps even durable.

    - The cord is about 3 ft., a perfect length if you are going to be twisting, turning, and generally move around a lot.

    - Price.

    The Bad:

    - A side effect of the durable construction is that these headphones are heavy. If you move around a lot, especially in a gym or running environment, these will not stay in your ears.

    - They are big, these are some of the largest earbuds I have seen, both in circumference and length. They stick a good distance out of your ear and are not comfortable in any way.

    - Straight plug. I should have remembered this from reading reviews before I bought them but somehow glossed over it. An angled plug is a requirement for me. This is just a matter of preference. For me though its a deal breaker.

    - Sound. I read many reviews about the sound quality and had hopes that these were going to have fantastic sound quality, especially when it came to bass. Maybe I set my hopes too high for a $15 pair of earbuds, but the sound was adequate but not stellar and in order to get the headphones to produce good bass I had to customize the equalizer settings in the Sansa Clip.

I really wanted to like these headphones and am surprised that they let me down after reading so many reviews. In the end though the old addage rings true, you pay $15 for a set of headphones, and that’s what you get.

These buds were great for the price, but after some months of use the connection near the plug went bad. Now, the right bud doesn’t work. I would not recommend these. I need to find something with better wire construction. Just to add, I never abused these.

These are the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever used. And they’re the best sounding I’ve ever heard. Just one word — fabulous!

This is my second pair of JBuds. I bought the first pair in Sept. 2009 and they worked great until March 2010 when one side lost sound. There was no crack in the wire, nothing visible to show what caused the problem. Thinking flimsy cords might be the issue I purchased another pair with heavier duty cord. Same problem after only 4 months. The JBuds sound great and are comfortable once you determine which size bud you need, but I can’t afford to replace them every few months. Moving on to another brand.

I used this earphone for 7 months without any issue. The sound quality is great and works perfectly in a noisy gym environment. But the connector end broke very easily while traveling when I was using it on an airplane. Wish they had a sturdier design. I believe 8 months is too early for things like this to happen.

I have small ears, but even the smallest ones made my ears sore. I went back to the standard apple issued ones.

My JBuds started having problems within less than a year of using it. Being frugal, I tried to stretch out its usage for a couple months. After all, I only used the earphones with my iPod Nano at the gym. It should last longer.

Finally, the JBuds earphones gave out. I contacted Customer Service. The brand ambassador immediately responded to my email and sent a replacement. I was very impressed with JBuds’ outstanding customer service.

I like JBuds’ earphones for its design and comfort.

I have been using these headphones for about 9 months, and they are great. The sound quality is top notch for their price range. I never spend more than $30 on a pair of headphones, but these are still the best. They have amazing bass and sound quality, and feel durable.

However, I am on my third pair because the first too stopped working after so long. this is not to say they are crappy headphones, because my headphones always break within so many monthes of use, including my skullcandys jvc marshmallows, koss earbuds, etc, which seems weird because I treat them better than anyone I know. The point is, Jlab has the best customer service I have ever dealt with. A quick email letting them know I had a problem, and I had my new headphones in less than a week!

the earbuds can really block the sound outside. But it did not fit in my ears very comfortably.
