I would guess I’ve tried at least a couple dozen sets of headphones and earbuds with various iPods over the past five years or so. I’d place these Sennheisers in the upper half of the pack for sure. For less than $20, they have very good sound and they’re comfortable to wear. I haven’t had them long enough to really make a call on durability, but they seem well made and feel solid.

I listen mostly to acoustic music, with some rock, jazz, and classical thrown in. These headphones have a pretty good range, but I’m not sure they’d be right for someone who listens to very bass-heavy music.

Some reviewers have complained about sound leakage, but it’s not really a concern for me. I primarily use these headphones for listening to music and podcasts on my iPod when I walk my dogs. I wanted headphones that didn’t cut me off from environmental sounds — I want to be able to hear traffic, dogs barking, people calling out, etc. And if you don’t buy sound isolating headphones, leakage is pretty much part of the deal. And I seldom play music loud enough to be a real nuisance to anyone nearby.

All in all, I’d recommend these headphones as long as you understand that you’ll be sharing your musical tastes — at least to some extent — to anyone close by.

I’ve owned 6 pairs of the Sennheiser PX100 over the years. I always keep 2 pairs on hand in case I break one of them. Well the PX100 have been discontinued and have been replaced by a $70 new model. That’s insane. I went on EBay and purchased some old Px100 but they were counterfeit!! So be careful there! I decided to try these PMX60. I have to say I’m very happy. They are actually louder than the PX100 but do lack some of the bass the PX100 have. The bass is still good just not as good as PX100. I tested them both and have actually been wearing these more than my PX100. They don’t hurt around the back of head like an old Sony pair I’ve had in the past. You can buy almost 4 of these for price of new PX100’s.

I would largely agree with many of the reviews here. If found the sound levels to be robust, and the frequency reproduction to be above average. I have trouble with any sort of in-the-ear phones, whether they are the “over” or earbud type. I’ve found these to be extremely lightweight and fairly comfortable.

The only drawback is yes, others could potentially hear your music selections if they are in the same room, and the volume is cranked a bit. But for those who do not like in-your-ear, or covering-the-ear designs (hot, sweaty, hairdo issues), this is a nice compromise.

For the price, they are a very reasonable and satisfying choice.

These headphones have a great sound – especially for the price. Sennheiser makes a great headphone that is not too expensive. I have tried several over-the-ear and in-ear headphones. The sound from these is better than most of the others – and matches some of the expensive ones.

I have had these headphones from the past 6months and i never repented buying these. They are very comfortable and give excellent quality output.

I purchased these headphones for $13.69 (excluding shipping), and I will be returning them asap.

    Pros:

    -nice fit

    -good sound

    -very nice design/style

    Cons:

-SOUND LEAKAGE! Like, I couldn’t believe how much the sound leaked out of these at a moderate volume level. I highly dislike that. I’ve never owned a pair that leaked so much; this is why I will be returning them asap.

I would not recommend these if you’re going to be around people.

All right first things first, for reputed product the audio quality was on par with sony or coby behind the neck headphones but not better. Sound is crisp and Bass is ok.

My biggest disappointment was problem of sound leakage, which nobody mentioned, i mean if you are in quiet place (they are comfortable so i use them everywhere)listening, even on low volume chances are that people around you might give you that look (hey budd, we don’t want to listen to your songs).

They are delicate for my rough usage, i throw them in the bag sometimes the cord get stretched, with all this, my headphones lasted me 4 months. (i mean hello, this headphones are mainly used for sports outdoor activities, they should be able to handle this}.

I have tried PMX 40 and PMX 100, this headphone doesn’t even compare, though the construction is quite good but the bass quality is so poor. Surprising if your are to compare the sound quality with other over the ear headphones of Senn. You might as well as consider Koss KSC75 is way cheaper and sounds better, that if you don’t mind clipping something on flaps of your ears. Actually, I want to return this item, that if I had the chance.

I have bought these headphones after reading the good reviews, however, I made a mistake and did not bother looking at the bad ones. While comfortable, these headphones are not worth buying if you are honestly looking for great sound.

Description said it’s great for rock and pop.. It’s not. While listening to rock music, the only clear thing you can hear is the voice. The instruments, however, are all muffled together, even when increasing volume. I like to be able to hear distinct instuments (drums, guitar, etc) but here it was hard to even figure out what is what.

Bass is non existent. If you are coming from iPod or alike earbuds, you will hear a small bass increase. If you are coming from your old neckband, you will hear a huge bass reduction.

When plugged into a computer, these headphone pick up a lot of static. It is impossible to listen to music with that kind of interference. If you are planning on using these with a computer, look elsewhere.

These were supposed to be a replacement for my old Koss neckband, and they are not better than them at all. So why pay three-four times as much, when you can go to walmart and get better headphones.

I am not hard on this headphones – just normal use. But with normal use I have had 2 pair go bad – the connection cable. Will I be a fool and buy my third pair in 3 years? I am thinking hard about it…..

I had a pair of behind the neck headphones for the longest time (I think they were made by Creative), and I loved them. They’ve long since died, but I thought it might be nice to get another pair. These are great. They sound good, and still allow me to hear what is going on around me (I know for some people this is not a good thing). Fortunately, if you don’t want to hear the outside world, these headphones are ridiculously loud. They fit well, and sound good, which is really all I can ask from headphones.

These headphones have excellent sound quality and are relatively durable. I had mine 3 years before I had to replace them. They’re super comfortable, as well. I was able to wear mine with glasses on while excercising without any problems. The cord is nice and long, too. I’d highly recommend them.

The sound quality is great, but the ear pieces are a bit rigid and not very comfortable.

the problems i want to note are that the sound doesn’t stay around your ears it eminates out pretty easily. and the sound quality is kinda iffy at times, it sometimes sounds “fuzzy” like its hitting its peak or something. whereas any other speakers headphones don’t have this. maybe it’ll get better with time?

For a news/talk format these headphones are great. The only thing I’ve had to adjust to is the over the ear design with no band over the head. Two things make them standout, they don’t enclose your ears so you can wear them for long periods and feedback doesn’t occur unless you really crank the volume. These phones are as close to the design and feel of the old Sennheiser 414’s with the yellow foam ear pads as you can get. I’ve only had them for a month and I’m not that hard on equipment so I’ll have to see how durable they are but for the price I’ll buy more if these die! Great value.

They look terrific, but sound lousy. Very tinny, very little bass. For about 10 dollars more you can get Koss ‘phones at Radio Shack. They don’t look as cool, but they sound much better.

I bought these headphones to replace another behind the neck pair from Sony, which I thought I had lost. The Sony headphones had a more comfortable fit, but the sound quality of the Sennhesier’s is so superior that even after discovering that I had only misplaced the Sony’s. I’m still using the Sennheiser’s three times a week when I run. Great sound at all frequencies, with night tight bass. The headphones fit securely and are perfectly comfortable, just not quite as good as the Sony’s. For the price, though, they can’t be beat.

I have a new favorite set of portable headphones! Beautiful, clear sound, rich bass, my favorite music sounds great. I never have liked earbuds, the engineering compromises of such a small earphone are simply too much. For lightweight and portable use I do prefer the behind the head style earphones for comfort. Much of my music is classical, new age and electronic, very demanding sounds when it comes to headphones, many just do not cut it. On the other hand I dislike spending a fortune on something that gets thrown in my bag every day, it is nice to find excellent headphones for the price.

I heard good things about this brand but I was really disappointed with these. They stretched out really quickly so they wouldn’t fit on my head very well. Then, after less than 2 months of use, the bass is totally shot. It’s crackly and pretty much ruined. The $10 headphones I got at Radio Shack lasted a LOT longer than these. If you’re looking for a good set of durable headphones, keep looking.
