These broke faster than any headphones I have ever used. I put them on, plugged into iphone, put in armband, pulled sleeve over armband and that was it. I have never had headphones break by pulling my short sleeve over it. I was not overly careful but was not rough. Did the same thing I always do. I was really looking forward to running this morning and that just ruined it.

I recently purchased a new iPod shuffle and was in need of some new work out headphones. I took a chance on these, and I am glad I did. I saw a few people complain that they were too tight, but as a larger guy, with a large head and neck I didn’t find this the case. The fit is snug, but not tight, and they don’t move at all even during intense work outs. The sound quality is excellent, many times better than the stock apple ear buds (but if you are any sort of a music appreciator, you already know this). The cord is pretty long, maybe about 6″ longer than it needs to be. With the iPod clipped to the bottom of my shirt there is still a bit of slack left in it.

As a small added bonus, I got a green iPod, and while it doesn’t match exactly, it does look nice with it, for those concerned about that.

As long as you are not sweating, these headphones are excellent. Great sound (when they are dry). Secure fit. Good looking. BUT they are not sport headphones as advertised because they don’t play well with sweat. As a runner, I sweat an average amount, and it just pours into these earpieces…. causing a muffled sound and reduced volume. As far as I can tell, it is caused by sweat forming a film over the metallic surface of the earpieces. To make matters worse, sweat can cause an additional seal between the upper portion of the earpiece and the ear canal, which further worsens the sound and causes occasional popping as the seal repeatedly forms and releases while running.

I’m not a Vulcan… my ears are not unusually shaped… I’m sure many others face this same problem (and indeed some of the reviews prove that).

Come on, Sennheiser engineers, I challenge you to come up with a solution. These headphones are WAY too good to discontinue… but they need to work well with sweat. What if a ridge was cut in the outer earpiece to prevent the water seal from forming… and also if the tiny holes in the metallic part were shaped differently to prevent the formation of the sweat film?

    –Still a loyal Sennheiser fan

After reading reviews for these headphones, I was highly anticipating receiving mine. I am a very active person, and use headphones daily when going on runs, lifting in the weight room etc. Sadly, these headphones are only good for running, nothing else. They are incredibly uncomfortable after about 20 minutes of use, and can not be worn when laying back on machines for workouts like bench press, incline, decline, etc. The one redeeming factor that I will say about these headphones is the sound quality; which I believe is majorly attributed to the fact that the construction of the headphones forces the earpieces so far into your ear. Had to return these the next day..

This is the first time I have written a review to warn people to avoid a product. This product is simply dangerous, it fits poorly and damaged my ear to a point where I had 2 days of total pain. The product should be withdrawn from the market. On top of fitting so poorly (my head and ears or of normal size btw), the sound quality was piss-poor. Run away.

I’ve owned these headphones for about 2-3 years now. I researched every set of headphones made knowing that the ones I first bought always fell out of me ears.

I wear these on the treadmill, running outdoors, in the gym doing regular weight work and LOVE them. They’ve been shoved in my gym bag and are sweated on 5 days a week. They sound as good as they did on day one, never fall out, have not even faded.

When (if) these ever break, I will be buying the same exact style again.

It pushes my head so hard, that I can not use it. I have a physical pain on my ears after wearing it for about an hour. Too much of pressure per area.

I know that it is designed on purpose for sports, not to fall from a head while running. But this is not acceptable, it causes lots of pain!

I have had these for one year and the rubber wire covering is cracking in 6 places exposing the copper wire. They are still working but probably not much longer. This casing should not deteriorate this quickly. These also fit awkwardly and constantly rotate out from the ear causing the sound to suck.(the in the ear portion is on a swivel from the ear hook) really annoying.

These are a standard headphone in terms of sound quality, about as good as a Sony. After a month or so, the plastics began to disbond and the wires began to break through the plastics around the earpieces. I expected at least average workmanship for the price, but this was poor quality. I would not recommend this to anyone.

i purchased these headphones after doing much research on amazon and thought they were the best ones i could get for working out at the gym. however i find myself HATING them because they hurt my ears. they are so uncomfortable! i thought that if i gave it a couple of days perhaps my ears would get used to them but this was not the case. so, i decided to return them. however, this is not possible since the distributor will not let you return something that has been taken out of the packaging! this is ridiculous. how do you know if you will like a product or not without trying it out?

now i know for next time, i should just go to the store to buy my products rather online from distributors that have ridiculous policies.

besides the discomfort, the sound quality is ok…although alot of ambient noise does get in.

maybe this is a good product for men or girls with big ear holes…all i know is that these ear phones hurt a lot.

These headphones are great if your not going to work out with them. Within 10 minutes my ears hurt. I had read a review that said this but thought it would be different for me, not so. Working out makes them to rub in your ears. They become uncomfortable within minutes. Please don’t get them if you plan on working out. Otherwise they are nice.

I have tried many different headphones for running and working out. These are BY FAR the best for staying on your ears when you are jumping, running, and sweating. They stay on your ears no matter what.

The only tiny drawback is that they could use a little more bass sound.

…works well. Stays on no matter how hard running; fits my head fine. Great running headphones. Sound quality fine for price.

I have been using this set for a couple of months now. Overall I like this set the best. At first the fit of them hurt my ears but I have gotten used to them now. They stay in my ears good during my workout which is a moderate walk that sometimes breaks into a jog. There is a clip that you can attach to your shirt to keep the wire out of your way.

So after a year of using these headphones I found them to grow in discomfort. Also I sweat a lot in the gym and when I run. The sweat gets in my ear and stays there do to the shape of the headphone. How ever the sound was great and they stayed in place. After a year they did crack near the headphone peace. But fixed with super glue.

Great sound, stay in your ear under all running conditions. The best I have owned.

If you don’t want to spend $100 for bose, this is your buy for comfort and quality, not to

mention the sound is great compared to apple standard earbuds. Great for running or walking.

I read several complaints about comfort before I purchased these headphones but apparently the person who designed these must’ve had the exact same size head that I do because they aren’t uncomfortable at all for me. Whether I am shooting baskets, running, biking or lifting weights, these things stay in my ears without issue. The only small complaint I have is that they seem to be pretty heavy on the bass but I’ve gotten used to it at this point. Otherwise, I am very happy with these headphones and would recommend to anyone who is active.

works like you’d expect it too. decent sound quality without blocking out all other noises. it took a time or two before i was comfortable with the feeling of them in my ears – they sort of squeezed a little it but don’t anymore. so far i’ve had them about 3 weeks and have used them a lot.

Pretty nice headphones for running and lifting weights. No slippage and the sound is good but they’re a little uncomfortable in the ears. I might say a bit too tight.
