These Sennheiser entry-level headphones are an ideal choice for people who like to walk around the room while listening to their favorite tunes. The system features a 900 MHz wireless transmitter that broadcast a powerful signal throughout the room–and even through walls and ceilings. Should listeners wander upstairs or outside, they can still enjoy the headphones’ warm sound and strong bass response provided they stay within range. The RS-110 headphones are also ideal for listening to late-night TV without waking up the rest of the house. And thanks to the lightweight, soft ear pads, the phones feel comfortable through hours of use. In addition, the phones include replaceable parts, so users don’t have to buy new headphones each time a part wears out, along with a pair of AAA batteries. So don’t get tied down by restrictive cables. With these Sennheiser headphones, users will enjoy a whole new world of wireless convenience.

Don’t reccomend for computer use
I like these headphones overall, sound quality, comfort, battery life etc.
However, one thing that is REALLY annoying is that when they go into idle mode (which happens after 30 or so seconds of no sound coming from the output)
the sound changes to a loud fussing sound, the kind you hear on old TV’s when you have it on a static channel.
So if you were listening to a song or something, playing loud, then kept browsing the internet after it ends, you have to remember to turn the headphones off or it will BLAST you with one of the most annoying sounds in the universe, loud as heck.
Good basic headphones – bad design
For anybody who has a normal sized face and smaller, these headphones are going to be so big that it will keep sliding off your ears as you move.
garbage
I got these today and they are defective. The power only stays on to the transmitter for a minute, then it dies and will not turn back on. Just seem like junk. Not going to try to get another pair, just returning them for a refund
quiet time
Easy set-up even for a non-electronic person like me. No more having to turn the tv down so low I can’t hardly hear it after the wife goes to bed. Sound is very good for such a low price headphone. Very nice stereo sound. I can even hear without static when I walk outside more than 50ft away from it.
Accountant
I have had one of these for years. It has recently been acting up, so this is a replacement. That alone should tell you how much I enjoy these headphones. I haven’t set up the new one yet, as I am waiting for thr final brath of the old one. Since it is exactly the same, I don’t anticipate any problems. Great product. I use it on the TV. If you leave the sound on the TV turned up, it’s like surround sound. If you turn the sound off, you can watch TV without disturbing others.
Sennheiser Rs110 926 Mhz: great quality
This device is excellent; I was a little apprehensive during the purchasing due to the price but the sound is neat and with a long range of functionality. I can be all over the house without losing any of its quality. I’m not rating the lifespan of the batteries because I just bought it a couple of weeks ago but so far so good.
Works
Works well, only thing is that you look pretty goofy with this giant ear phones on your head.
not too bad for the money
the headphones work fine, were easy to set up and use…….my only beef is this
(and its probably the TV’s fault) is that i must leave the sound on low ( but not too low or it shuts off)
if i mute tv then i mute sound in the headset…….if you turn the volume all the way down the unit
automatically turns off
Highly uncomfortable, annoying headphones
*OVERVIEW*
These headphones are by far the worst I have owned to date. I am a gamer, and so I typically wear my headphones for multiple hours in a day, and while I don’t necessarily expect 100% quality from wireless headphones, these headphones do not even remotely stack up to other ones that I have worn. They are painful to wear for sustained periods of time, slide off my head if I move it too much, are subject to random burst of static, and are just a general annoyance for any but the most casual of user.
*COMFORT*
If you plan on only wearing these headphones for 20-30 minutes at a time, you may want to purchase these, but for any sustained length of time they can be very painful and annoying to deal with. After about 40 minutes or so, my ears start to hurt from wearing these headphones, and so I constantly have to be shifting them around so as to put pressure on different parts of my ear in order to alleviate the problem.
The headphones are adjustable, but due to the nature of the earphones they don’t stay on my head very well, even though they are very snug. Any but the slightest forward or backward motion of my head will send them sliding off my head. Combined with constantly having to adjust them on my ears, these headphones are a real annoyance.
*SOUND QUALITY*
The sound quality is average at best, although the tuning seems to work decently. The two most annoying problems with them is that, if there’s no sound being played in them for a brief period of time, the transmitter will turn off and the headphones will just emit tons of static noise. Not the most pleasant experience if you’ve paused your sound to talk to someone or if your music playlist ends and you walk out of the room.
On top of that, every so often the headphones get a burst of static that is (at least with my volume settings) 2-3 times louder than what I am listening to. It is extremely jarring (and often times audibly painful), to say the least. The transmitter also does not have the best sensitivity to movement, as often times my headphones get out of tune with the transmitter with only slight movements of my head, so I sometimes have to be in uncomfortable positions to keep the headphones in tune without having to adjust the tuning wheel (and I keep the transmitter about 3 feet from my head).
*TLDR VERSION*
Pros:
- average to decent sound quality, when tuned in
Cons:
- very painful and uncomfortable for sustained (over 30 min) use
- random bursts of static that are very jarring
- headphones transmit loud static when transmitter turns off (which happens whenever sound is not playing for a minute or so)
- transmitter gets out of tune with the headphones with very slight movements
High quality digital sound from TV and DVD recorder inside lounge
Instead of a small room home theatre speaker system and DVD player under $200 on special at the shops at Dandenong here in Australia, and because I already have a DVD recorder connected with the high quality $20 yellow/red/white AV leads to the TV, and also the standard digital set top box with the high quality $20 AV leads to the TV, I decided to get these headphones wired with the gold AV connectors that plug on the back of the TV’s audio out AV terminals: The digital sound quality from the TV channels are absolutely clear and full of background sounds like birds whistling and squeaky doors closing, while voices from actors sound like their mouths are close to your ears. Just need a little magical skill in fine-tuning the dial button with your finger to get no hissing sound. Remote control volume for DVD recorder and digital set top box must be on MAXIMUM LEVEL to avoid the annoying hiss and whistle sound.
Junk! Don’t even take them as a free gift!
After reading lots of reviews, I decided on these RS 110s and purchased them from Ace Photo Digital (see separate review of them).
I could explain about ease of setup, sound quality, and comfort, but there really is no reason to do that, unless you only want headphones that last 1 month (or 3 days). I’ll explain… I had no problem initially (although the comfort and sound quality were good, but neither were excellent). But then, just about 1 month after I had gotten them, it sounded like I was losing the signal. I tuned them, but couldn’t get any sound. I thought that was pretty soon for batteries to wear down, but tried replacing the batteries, but they still did not work.
I contacted Amazon (not that it was easy to do that) but was told that there was no recourse because I bought it from a Marketplace seller. I contacted the seller (APD) but they do not replace or refund headphones, period (so beware!). They suggested I contact the manufacturer, and there, I was initially told that they had no way of knowing I’d even purchased them (or that they “weren’t stolen”). Finally I reached a reasonable person there, who initially said I’d have to give my credit card number (to be charged and later reimbursed) and she’d send me a new pair. I refused, but she decided to send them to me anyway (with the plan that I’d send the faulty pair later–which I did).
The second pair worked for precisely 3 days when one side went out. Needless to say, I would not recommend these. I wouldn’t even donate them (although I wish I had donated the $50 to my favorite charity, instead).
They are in the trash.
Best wireless headphones I’ve owned
These phones are a remarkable value. The sound quality is excellent and I get perfect reception anywhere in my large 3-story home. Unless you are going to use them for many hours each day, the disposable batteries work just fine (I’m still on my first set); you will save enough over the rechargeable rs-120 model to buy batteries for a long time or you can use rechargeable AAs. Otherwise, the rs-110 and rs-120 models seem identical.
I had been using a set of Rocketfish cordless phones that cost twice as much and bought these for a second viewer. But I now use the Sennheisers as they are lighter, have less clamping pressure, have better range and better sound. A very nice but unadvertised feature is the ability to switch between 3 frequencies in the event your neighbor also has a pair of these. Some reviewers have complained about the static heard when there is no input signal to the base station but that hasn’t been an issue for me since I always turn on my audio/TV system before donning the phones.
Exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price
I read as many reviews as I could for various headphones. There were several that seemed to have overwhelmingly positive reviews. I chose the one that seemed to have the most features for a reasonable price. The headphones are a little bulky but comfortable and not heavy. I have to be careful about leaning over because they fall off easily. That’s my problem, not a flaw with the headphones. I put them on late in the evening and both I and my neighbors are happy. I can definitely recommend them.
I would not recommend this unit.
I purchased this headset and wish I didn’t. Here are the reasons why:
1) Battery life is terrible!!!
2) As stated with others, the signal drops all of a sudden and screeches in your ears!
3) Cheap quality for the brand and money.
4) Always having to tune the stupid thing as it somehow just goes out of tune.
Not sure how others can rate this product with anything higher than two stars. It’s not worth the money!
Satisfied
Other than the sound cutting out from normal cell phone interference, these are great. The sound comes back instantly, wish that could be eliminated. These are still the best of all brands I tried.
Sennheiser quality – some flaws
–GOOD–
Superb sound quality
Extremely easy to setup
Very nicely put together
Light and comfortable
Wireless is so convenient!
–BAD–
Interference is an issue as with all wireless headphones. I have to turn off my wireless internet router or I get all kinds of chirps and whistles, despite all the tuning in the world. Even then, other unknown sources cause the odd strange sound.
Open back design lets a LOT of sound out. Even on low volume everybody within a 25ft radius will know what you’re listening too. Please keep that in mind!
As mentioned in many other reviews, the auto-off feature is a good idea, but likely to cause you a heart attack if you have the headphones on when it happens! An ear-splitting SCREECH-CHIRRRP-WHISTLE when you’re nodding off to sleep is no fun =)
–CONCLUSION–
I only buy Sennheiser headphones now – the sound quality and build quality are second to none. The main issues with these headphones are not really a “fault” – more the way the technology works. You have to trade off the convenience of the wireless design for some interference. If you can’t live with a little bit of background hiss (only noticeable during quiet parts of music/movies) and the odd weird noise (from who knows what…) then buy traditional wired phones instead. The other issue is the open back design – this gives a more natural sound and is a lot more comfortable for long sessions, but those around you CAN easily hear too. I also have a pair of Sennheiser EH-250’s, which cup the ear and don’t let any sound out – but they’re very hard on the ears after a while. So again, it’s a trade-off.
remote earphones
I was leery of the low price when ordering, but the headphones are comfortable and the sound is great. Great buy.
Excellent Headset
These were bought to replace a set of Advent wireless phones that had worn out. These are twice the phones that the others were new. Great comfort, great sound, great distance and really good battery life. You have to charge them before you can use them, but it’s no big deal unless you have no patience whatsoever. It took longer to get them out of the package than it did to connect them to my TV. Comes with adapters for several different hookups. Absolutely will buy another of this brand.
Good product in most ways… but…
I’m not into 3-page long reviews, especially when a product has been so well reviewed. I’ll just add one or two details from my experience:
1. Sound – the sound is reasonable, but not great. The construction of the headphones is such that your ears are directly covered by a fabric and there is no “cup” structure as I’ve become used to from better headphones, like the Bose offering, for example. That leaves the experience kind of flat, allows outside noise in, and generally leads to the next comment:
2. Comfort – I find these HOT to wear. The fabric and foam that sits against and covers my ears get hot within 3-4 minutes of use and is uncomfortable, therefore I have not used these for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. In hot weather, they are unbearable.
That’s it – good product otherwise – setup, use, etc. is easy and straightforward.
What the ???? did I pay for.
I like to read a lot of reviews before purchasing any electronic item and these headphones were no exception. The majority of people rated it very highly so I was sold on the item. Now onto the review;
The Good: It’s fairly priced for what you get. I’ve searched everywhere for a decent wireless set that doesn’t cost triple digits and these fit the bill. Sennheiser has a great reputation and they have some really nice headphones (but you’ll have to really open your wallet for the good stuff… this model was not one of those). The headphones are extremely comfortable and I was surprised by how light they were. The item looks like it was constructed really well also (so it was light but well made
.
The Bad: Others have mentioned this as well but I have to say, the whole issue of the base shutting off when the audio source volume is too low really bothered me. I guess I understand the mechanics of the thing (the better the source, the better the headphones are able to pic up the sound etc.) but there should have been a warning or instructions about this issue at least. I had to read reviews here and online forums to figure out that it was not just a faulty headset. I’ve had my set for 4 weeks now and the headphones have dropped out on me more than half the time, WITHOUT my source volume decreasing. I don’t know what the deal is but I’m ready to return them. The item seems to work when it wants to which is not how I like my electronics. Sound quality was ok to good, depends on how many wireless items you going on in the area. I could never really get the “static” to go away completely either (after lots of fine tuning, you still hear it faintly). I guess you get what you paid for but still, next time I’ll shill out for some Bose ones or something as these are pretty frustrating.
