Awesome stuff
I have earlier used this earphones and I was impressed with the value of this product. When I lost my earphone I had no other option but to purchase an another one of the same type. The product is of great value for the money you spend.
Great earphones for any price.
These earphones are great. Design is slick and modern. Sound is clear and the bass is awesome. I’ve always bought the Sony earphones with the Volume control, can’t remember the model now, and thought they were the best…but after buying these earphones I can comfortably say that these are just as great, if not better because of their design. I recommend these earphones to anyone who wants great earphones at a very cheap price.
OK for some – But not what I was looking for.
Some other reviews indicated these earbuds offered a better fit, being perhaps smaller than others. I did not find that to be the case for me. They are OK otherwise, but I’ll be using something with a choice of sized cushions.
Excellent buy!
Ok, so there are earbuds with better bass – I splurged and spent $14 on the Sony PIIQ Exhales – but these Sonys have great clarity and an airy sound like open-air headphones that is really enjoyable and adds presence to recordings. Forget wedging something in your ear canal, these are excellent for the price. Much better than JVC Gumys.
Awesome earbuds
Great range of sound, easily as loud as you could want, no popping/buzzing/clicking that some earbuds suffer at higher volumes. Impressively good bass, and they sit in my ears comfortably. Easy to forget you’re wearing them.
Overall great value, these come highly suggested.
Very, VERY minor issue which might not affect ANYONE but me.
I think they may have a relatively low impedance, because if i plug in an amp (Pyle Pro PTA1000 1000 Watt DJ Amplifier, also from amazon) to the second headphone port on my laptop (more sophisticated sound cards prbly wouldn’t have this happen) then the amp doesn’t really get a signal, but if i unplug these earbuds, it instantly gets all the signal.
Great Earbuds
I thought these were going to be ‘hard’ and uncomefortable in my ear but after using them the first time I realized that I was wrong. They are very comefortable – I tend to run 4 – 6 miles every other day and they stayed in my ear with no issues.
Great sound and fit for the price, also good to sleep with.
I was looking for a cheap, good sounding ear bud that I could sleep with (laying on my side). These are just was I was looking for. The sound quality is better than expected and they fit nice with the optional foam pads. Very satisfied with these. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 b/c I just got them and don’t know how long they will last.
Bugdet earphones
Budget *Sony* headphones.
Well, they’re not the great sounding quality that you’d expect, but they deliver. And how?
The sound clarity is good, but the sound is not hiked up like in those cheap Chinese-knock offs. End of the day, it’s a Sony and it’d atleast last another 6 months. You might get better sounding earphones for far cheaper, but trust me, they wouldn’t last as long as branded ones do.
Recommended.
PS: I’m not a hardcore audiophile, but that doesn’t mean I don’t listen to all kinds of music.
Great headphones
Love these phones. Great sound and quality. I’ve never had $100 phones so I can’t compare but these work fine for me. 5+++
Great for the price
I got these in order to qualify for super saver shipping on some movies. They work great!
Great for the price!
Well like i said these are the best for the price. I’ve used plenty of other ear buds and these are by far the best in the lower price range..For around $10.00 they work Great!!
Sony Fashion Earbuds – MDR-E10LP
If I were rating these earbuds solely on the sound quality as it relates to the price, I would give it a solid 5+ stars…without a doubt, the best “bang for the buck” out there at $10 or less. I gave them 4 stars only because the fit isn’t perfect. If they tapered the earbud at all and these fit better, I would go to 4.5 stars because I know that some of the real high end earbuds deliver a very rich sound and might deserve a 5 star rating.
I have purchased dozens of different lower quality earbuds under $100…and I have tried dozens more higher quality earbuds…and I would challenge anyone to find earbuds with better sound quality at a price even remotely close to the price of these earbuds. I have small ear passages and they do not fit particularly well, but what the heck…I use them on the train while commuting…at home while relaxing…or maybe in the car or at the beach. I don’t use them to run, exercise or leap tall buildings in a single bound…so I don’t have to worry about them falling out. I know fit is a big sticking point in many earbud reviews and rightly so. However, let’s face it, the most important quality with any headphone or earbud has to do with sound…and these earbuds deliver.
I can’t believe the bass is so rich. There is no tin like sound when still and the sound is not affected when moving the wires. The main wire is plenty long, as are the earbud wires which are also of equal length. I own an IPOD Classic which I take everywhere…watching movies and videos and listening to ALL different music genres. I believe the best setting with the best bass and overall sound on the IPOD is R&B…with Rock a close second. I will also add that even though the fit is not perfect in my ears, these earbuds do a fairly decent job at blocking out external noise.
I need a good sound when listening to music or it just isn’t that pleasurable, but I am not dishing out $200 or more to constantly worry about something going wrong with my expensive purchase and then wrestling with Company X to get a refund or have them replaced. I am considering buying a pair of Denon AH-C751’s or AH-C700’s on Amazon for less than $100…both regularly $200…but I have yet to take the plunge.
So if you are in the market for an expensive pair of high quality and rich sounding earbuds, but are hesitating for one reason or the other…or if you just don’t want to spend a lot of money and the fit doesn’t have to be perfect…then I recommend buying a pair of Sony Fashion Earbuds to hold you over until you find the “perfect” earbuds or hit the lottery. These buds may not be the perfect fit, but the sound quality is sure to win you over…and who could possibly have a problem with the price!
I will say that I am on my second pair…the first pair lasted just over a year. At less than $10, I am not complaining!
Plain and Simple
This is actually my second pair (cause my little cousin ripped my other ones). For less than $10 you can’t expect much, but these are actually really good, the only id like better, would be if they made the cord a bit longer. Definitely get these if you dont want to spend a lot of money, and the price fluctuates on these sony earphones a lot. i got mine for $8.35 three days ago, at the time i writing this review they are now $9. but as long as they are cheaper than retailers and i get them in 2days with free-shipping, its all good.
ok, but a little loose in the ear
I’m petite and have petite ears. These ear buds are a little loose, which has never happened to me before. They do have a cool shape though, for some reason they fall exactly where they’re supposed to (e.g., with the speaker part pointing toward your ear canal) and stay there, unless you’re running or otherwise undertaking vigorous activity. For an under $10 pair of headphones, the sound quality is good, but not great, and they seem a little cheaply made. I might buy them again for the price.
Earbuds to sleep on
I fall asleep listening to the radio. Unfortunately, my wife is kept awake by said radio. Enter the use of earbuds. I have been through more pairs of various brands of earbuds than I can remember, though my wife would claim I wouldn’t remember more than one. I recently purchased two pairs of these Sony earbuds and am extremely pleased. Their shape allows me to identify the correct channel for each ear in the dark. The cord is longer than most which gives me a larger leash to move around the bed without yanking the earbud out of my ears. Sound quality is much better than the radio I am using. And most of the time, its even comfortable to have the earbud in my ear while laying that side down on the pillow.
Wires nowadays are getting flimsier!
I don’t know maybe I’m just old but wires on all earbuds are real flimsy these days. Excluding the construction quality the other aspects of these earbuds are top notch. The bass is good when I play something with high beats I can hear and feel the vibrations.
If you care about blocking out all noise buying the sennheiser buds would be sufficient for that otherwise stick with these since they are nice, reliable, and cheap.
Your search has ended
I use earbuds for two to four hours every day. In the past ten years I’ve purchased many, many different brands in search of the Holy Grail of earbuds. The three biggest problems that I have with earbuds are fit, sound quality, and longevity.
Fit – Many earbuds are simply too large to stay comfortably in my ear. I’m not a little person. I’m six feet tall, one hundred eighty pounds. Even the famous iPod earbuds are too big, and some people think they are some of the best quality earbuds available. Large earbuds are uncomfortable and they won’t stay in your ear. I really like these earbuds because they fit comfortably and they don’t fall out.
Sound quality – These earbuds have sound quality that is equal to or better than the most expensive earbuds that I’ve ever purchased.
Longevity – The biggest problem with most earbuds is that the very fine copper wire near the plug eventually breaks inside the rubber insulation due to repeated bending of the wire during normal use. This causes one or both of the speakers to lose connectivity intermittently, and eventually permanently. Every set of earbuds that I have ever owned has eventually failed in this manner, but these earbuds have lasted longer than any earbuds that I have ever purchased. I am still using the first set of earbuds that I purchased over a year ago, and that is just unheard of for me considering the use and abuse to which I submit my earbuds.
Buy these earbuds and don’t look back. All of those fancy, expensive earbuds with hip sounding names and slick marketing and high prices do not offer any better performance than these.
05/30/2010 ETA the words “some people think” in the description of the quality of the iPod earbuds above. I’ve been taken to task for my overly optimistic and completely unqualified assessment of their greatness or lack thereof.
best of the cheap
These to be the best cheap earbuds I can find. Decent bass, excellent midrange, and comfortable (for me). The price to performance ratio earns five stars from me.
