No complaints
Indeed the most comfortable speakers around. I found some comments that mentioned that the speakers might uncomfortable if you have a big head (like me, I have a helmet size XXL) but I found those claims to be unsubstantiated. With these speakers you get the most bang per buck.
great sounding headphones
The sound quality of these headphones is remarkable for the price. They are lightweight and comfortable for hours of usage. I have a large head. They fit well without binding. The earpieces are embossed L & R, which gives correct stereo orientation.
Second purchase of these headphones-GREAT!!!!!
The shipping was fast both times and since I ordered a pair about 6 months ago for my daughter and the sound was so great. I decided to order a pair for myself in July 2010. If you’re in need of good sounding headphones; these are for you. I would recommend this brand for anyone.
My dads is hard to please
Bought as fathers day gift for him to use with his desktop, complained about sound quality… Unit has a movie and music mode which I didnt care for much but could use more then pops. May just take them from him and use for my office… Get him some better ones..
High-quality headphones.
These headphones are simply awesome, just for those who want to read a short review:
+ They are very comfortable. I used them for hours and they didn’t hurt my hears like other types of headphones.
+ Cable is long. Very long. I did not measured it but it’s almost as double or triple the length of standard headphones.
+ Sound quality is amazing. I love the bass and these headphones emphasize the bass sounds very well. Simply put, if you love surround sound, you’ll love these.
+ The size is quite big. If you look at the sample pictures they don’t look as big, but be wary, these are some serious sized headphones. Not recommended for those looking for something “portable”.
+ The Price. From the quality of sound to the quality of the product, every cent you spent on these headphones is well worth it. And at its current price, you’re getting a great deal.
- Does not reduce noise. At least not fully. You can still hear people talking clearly even with music playing. Either way, this is no big deal to me but I added it because I know to some people this is a somewhat important factor.
Sound 10/10 (Very impressive)
Quality 9/10 (Some plastic components look kind of cheap)
Comfortability 9/10 (Really comfortable)
Size 8/10 (Not portable friendly)
Value 10/10 (Great headphones for a low price)
Overall 9/10
Like some previous customer said, they are indeed awesome, but not perfect.
Great heaphones.
I will keep this very short and sweet.
These headphones are great. Very light and fit very well over my ears. I use these to practice music on my drums. There may be better headphones, but for right now and for the price, you can’t beat these headphones. The length of the cord for the jack is long enough.
A note to musicians: If you’re a drummer or like to jam real fast where you’re moving a lot, your ears will get sweaty inside.
Overall, I love these headphones and I will be sticking to them for a while.
Great Sound, Great Price
I wear these headphones for 9-10 hours per day at work and they are great. The sound quality is fantastic, and they are very comfortable.
Definitley recommend them!
After many uses…….it fails all together.
I bought this trash in October 2009. I really didnt start using them daily until February 2010 because I hated the music on the radio. In June 2010, one of the phones did not work anymore. This was probably in whole or in part the fault of that crappy “music/movie” mode switch on the side, which is also a pretty pointless feature as the sound is no different in any mode. The overall material consist of cheap and easily breakable plastic. There is absolutely no cancellation either way and at max volume, the sound leaks clearly. And after long usage you will began to sweat because of how tight they are on your ears. My recommendation: get Sennheisers 200 and up series.
Stopped working!!!
Purchased from Amazon on Dec. 27, 2009. Headphones no longer working as of July 21, 2010. Tried all fixes but none worked, they are just dead. I know they are an inexpensive headphone but I expected them to last more than 7 months. Can’t get them fixed as it would cost more than a new pair. I think I’ll try another brand. Any suggestions?
Best bang for the buck!
You can’t beat the price and they are very comfortable, especially if you were glasses. They’re bigger than I thought, but I’m very happy with them.
sony headphones
Great bass output, which I like, as well as the overall sound, is very good.
Sony MDR-XD200 head phones
I’m very pleased, this set of headphones replaced an inexpensive set of Koss headphones, the difference in the sound quality is very apparent.
Not too shaby for the money
I use these as studio head phones for a internet pod cast. I also use them from time to time for music. For the money they do the job. They are pretty good for blocking out outside noise. The little sound switch is about the only useless thing on these phones. Although, I have to admit that my ears are not what they used to be. The cord is nice and long and the foam ear covers are large and as close to old school head phones you can get with out spending a ton of money. These totally enclose your ears. If you want a decent budget set of head phones that are comfy. These will fit the bill.
Good value
These cans are a pretty good value. Very comfortable, nice long cord. Sound quality is OK. Bass is way too emphasized but for the price, I can’t complain.
fine for movies, but
These headphones are fine for using with your computer. There isn’t much difference between these and my Sennheiser 555. I use my line-out from the motherboard; nothing to notice there. There is very little noise-cancellation, if any at all. For $20 you won’t be too disappointed when the kids throw them on the ground. The “sound mode” switch is just there for looks as far as I’m concerned.
When I plugged these into my Roland drum kit I was very disappointed. Don’t waste your money if you plan on using these for studio quality enjoyment. (I use the Sony MDR-V6. They replaced a pro set that broke after 15 years. I don’t think music can sound better than this)
Sounds great, comfortable, but not as described.
Great sound and comfort for the price. Well worth the money. Just one issue: the product does not quite match the description on Amazon:
“Features include high-energy neodymium magnets, a 2.5m extension cord and a convenient sound mode switch to match the sound source. Listen in style and comfort with the MDR-XD200 Studio Monitor Series headphones. Frequency Response – 10Hz – 22,000Hz Impedance – 70 ohms Sensitivity (db) – 102dB/mW Headband – Adjustable, Single, Music/Movie Sound Mode Switch 3.3 Feet (1m) Cord – Oxygen-Free Copper Lutz Accessories Supplied – Unimatch(R) plug adapter plug in type (gold); Sony Warranty card”
The product does not come with a 1m cord plus a 2.5m extension cord – one of the reasons I purchased it – but with one long (I’m guessing) 10 foot cord.
Awesome headphone for the hearing impaired with BTE aids
I am hearing impaired and wear behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids. I recently started working in a cubicle environment, and needed a set of headphones in order to listen to my music while working. Ordinary headphones either cause feedback (an annoying whistling noise)from the hearing aids or require that the hearing aids be totally removed in order to use the headphones. Taking out my hearing aids isn’t so bad for at home listening, but it is impractical in an office environment–having to take off the headphones and reinsert the hearing aids to answer a phone call or talk to someone that comes up to your desk is pretty awkward! My hearing aids have blue-tooth capability in order to send music directly to them, but it also shuts the microphones off so that I’m unaware of the phone ringing or someone coming up behind me. So, I searched on-line for headphones that would work well with hearing aids, and there wasn’t much information available. I took a chance on these headphones, and wanted to share my experience with them in case there are other hearing-impaired people out there that want or need headphones that will work with their hearing aids in place.
These headphones are wonderful! They fit over the entire ear without causing feedback. The sound quality is very good at least from this hearing-impaired, non-audiophile’s point of view. I work 10 hour shifts and have my music on for the majority of that time, and they are comfortable. I agree with other reviewers that the cord is too long, but that was easily solved by adjusting the twist tie that came wrapped around the cord. I do like the fact that only one cord comes out of the headphones instead of the traditional Y cord arrangement. As the picture shows, the muff that goes over your ears is quite large–not very fashionable, but this is what I believe makes it work so well with hearing aids.
“Noise-canceling headphones”
Bought this after the frustration of having my ipod/gummy earbud break ever other month. Not a bad product; I was disappointed with how huge they are. The noise-reduction only works if your music is a little higher than the surrounding noise. I got it for $23, but I’d suggest looking at reviews at other headphones similar before you make your selection.
Good Headphones
The Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo Headphones are good headphones. Comfortable to wear and sounds good. It dosen’t have that much bass, but enough to sound good. If your looking for headphones with heavy bass then these are not what your looking for, but if your looking for a good sounding head set for a good price then these are it.
great item
Great sound quality for the price, very comfortable. I like the ‘one-wire design’ that runs over the headband.
